The 2025 Ford F-150 is a versatile, gas-powered, hard-working pickup that offers a wide range of trim levels to meet your needs. Drivers seeking electric performance can now opt for the same reliability, style, and practical features with the all-electric 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning. Compare the differences to see which one is right for you before heading to your Ford dealership.

Gasoline Power

The gas-powered 2025 F-150 offers six different engines to choose from. The base XL model packs a 2.7-liter V6 that produces 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque and features a max towing capacity of 8,400 lbs. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available. A 3.5-liter V6 is also available to increase the output to 400 hp, 500 lb-ft, and boasts the highest maximum towing capacity of 13,500 lbs when properly equipped.

There’s also a high-output version of the V6 exclusively available on the Raptor trim, a hybrid version that makes 430 hp and 570 lb-ft of torque, and a 5.0-liter V8 for 400 hp and 410 lb-ft. The highest power option is a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 that delivers an incredible 720 hp and 640 lb-ft.

Electric Power

The 2025 F-150 Lightning features standard all-wheel drive and two electric motors that make 452 hp when combined with the 98.0-kWh Standard Range battery. The 131.0-kWh Extended Range battery ups the horsepower to 580, and both configurations boast a maximum of 775 lb-ft of torque. The electric models offer less towing power than the gas engines, but you can still haul trailers weighing up to 7,700 lbs with the Standard Range battery and 10,000 lbs with the Extended Range version.

Models equipped with the standard battery offer up to 230 miles of driving range, which is plenty for most daily drives and then some. If you want the convenience of waiting longer between charges, the larger battery pack provides up to 320 miles of range. When properly equipped, a fully charged F-150 Lightning can even supply three days of electricity to an average household during a power outage.

Whether your priority is maximum towing power or an efficient truck with front trunk space and the ability to serve as a backup generator, there’s a 2025 F-150 or 2025 F-150 Lightning model for you. When you’re ready to explore your options in person, head over to Freeway Ford in Minneapolis, MN!
