FREEway Lifetime Warranty

Powertrain Coverage:

For "Original Owners" (as defined below), the FREEway Lifetime Powertrain Warranty will continue to cover the following components for an unlimited amount of time and unlimited number of miles from the Date of First Service. It does not cover normal wear and tear, maintenance, or those items excluded elsewhere.

Original Owner:

An Original Owner is defined as the first retail purchase or lessee of the Vehicle who takes delivery of the Vehicle on its Date of First Service.

The items covered by the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty include:

  • Gasoline Engine:

    All internally lubricated parts contained within the engine block and cylinder head(s). Plus, these non-internally lubricated parts: Water pump, fuel pump, valve covers, oil pan, dipstick and tube, timing belt, timing chain/belt cover, engine mounts, flywheel, ring gear, flex plate, harmonic balancer, belt tensioner and idler pulley(s), intake and exhaust manifolds. Factory installed supercharger/turbocharger. Cylinder head, engine block and rotor housings when damaged because of the failure of a covered internally lubricated part.

  • Diesel engine:

    All the above parts plus diesel fuel injection pump, fuel injectors, fuel lines.

  • Electric Drive:

    Electric drive motor/Generator and all internal parts; Electric drive motor dampener; Electric drive motor mounts; Electric drive motor coolant pump. Parts and components are covered only if damaged by the failure of an internal part or component: electric drive motor case.

  • Transmission Coverage:

    Automatic transmission: All internally lubricated parts contained within the transmission case. Plus, these non-internally lubricated parts: Transmission mount(s), oil pan, dipstick and filler tube, vacuum modulator. Transmission case when damaged because of the failure of a covered internally lubricated part.

    Manual transmission: including automatically shifted manual transmission: All internally lubricated parts contained within the transmission case. Plus, these non-internally lubricated parts: Transmission mount(s) and automatically shifted manual transmission clutch. Transmission case when damaged as a result of the failure of a covered internally lubricated part.

    Fluids, Fasteners and Filters: Coolant, fluids, fasteners, lubricants and filters when required in connection with the repair or replacement of a covered part

  • Transfer Case & Drive Axle:

    Transfer Case: All internally lubricated parts contained within the transfer case. Plus, these non-internally lubricated parts: Electronic and vacuum engagement parts, four-wheel drive automatic/semi-automatic and manually operated hub assemblies. Transfer case housing when damaged as a result of the failure of a covered internally lubricated part.

  • Drive Axle:

    All internally lubricated parts contained within the Front and/or Rear Drive Axle Housing. Plus, the following parts: Axle shafts, axle bearings, constant velocity joints and boots, universal joints, and center support bearing. Final drive housing when damaged as a result of the failure of a covered internally lubricated part.

    EV/Hybrid Gear Reduction/Reducer Box/Transfer Case: All internal, lubricated parts and components; EV gear reduction/reducer box/transfer case mount; coolant pump, cover, and oil pan. The following parts and components are covered only if damaged by the failure of an internal, lubricated part or component: gear reduction/reducer box housing, and transfer case housing.

What does the FREEway Lifetime Powertrain Warranty cover?

The FREEway Lifetime Powertrain Warranty covers parts and labor on all approved engine, transmission and driveline failures including applicable seals and gaskets. See above for a list of all the covered components and disclosures.

What do I have to do to keep the FREEway Lifetime Powertrain Warranty in effect?

Simply maintain the vehicle at any certified repair facility, in accordance with the Manufacturer's Recommended Maintenance Schedule. Note that the recommended maintenance must be performed according to the maintenance schedule booklet.

Where can I find the Manufacturer's Recommended Maintenance Schedule for my vehicle?

See your Maintenance Guide given at the time of delivery or call and speak to a Freeway Ford Service Advisor.

Do I have to service the vehicle at FREEway Ford?

It is not necessary to have your service work performed at Freeway Ford however, it does need to be documented, and any warranty work will need to be completed at a certified repair facility.

Can I change my own oil?

You may change your own oil however you will have to have supporting documentation i.e.: receipts for oil and filters etc. and will have to keep an oil change log and sign off each time an oil change is completed showing that it has been done within the recommended mileage intervals.

Am I responsible for paying a deductible when making a claim?

There will continue to be no deductible for the FREEway Lifetime Powertrain Warranty if the warranty work is done at Freeway Ford. However, you will be responsible to a pay a $250 deductible for any warranty repair made at a service facility other than Freeway Ford after the factory warranty has expired.

Does the FREEway Lifetime Powertrain Warranty contract provide towing and rental car coverage?

No. However, towing and car rental may be covered by your factory warranty which you received with the purchase of your new vehicle. These expenses may also be covered if you purchased an extended service contract from Freeway Ford’s Finance Department. Your Freeway Ford Service Advisors can provide you with details.

Is the FREEway Lifetime Powertrain Warranty transferrable?

No. The FREEway Lifetime Powertrain Warranty expires upon transfer to any subsequent owners. It is only good for "Original Owners" (as defined above)
