Ford Co-Pilot360 is an advanced suite of safety features that are offered in vehicles across the Ford lineup. If you’re thinking about getting a new Ford, and interested in having some of the latest safety features in your vehicle, check out some of the features you can get with Ford Co-Pilot360.
Lane-Keeping System
The lane-keeping system uses sensors to scan for the lines on both sides of the road to help you stay in your lane. Once it detects the lines, it can alert you if you start to drift out of your lane. The system has three settings available. In lane-keeping alert, the system can provide steering wheel vibrations to warn you when you’re drifting. With lane-keeping assist, the system will apply gentle steering torque to guide you back into your lane. You can also set the system to activate both settings.
Blind Spot Information System With Cross-Traffic Alert
The Blind Spot Information System with cross-traffic alert can make driving down highways with multiple lanes a little easier. The system uses sensors in the rear of your vehicle to alert you if there’s a vehicle in your blind spot. If it detects a vehicle, it alerts you with an indicator light in the side mirror. The system also uses the sensors to help you when backing up. If it detects an approaching vehicle, it emits an audible warning and flashes a warning light.
Pre-Collision Assist With Automatic Emergency Braking
The pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking system uses cameras to scan for other vehicles and pedestrians ahead of your vehicle. If it detects a potential collision, it will emit an audible alert and flash a warning message. The system will then precharge the brakes and increase their sensitivity so you’ll have full responsiveness when you brake. Plus, if you don’t brake soon enough to avoid the collision, the system can automatically apply the brakes.
Reverse Brake Assist
If you’re searching for a new Ford that makes it easier to back up, look for a vehicle that offers reverse brake assist as part of its Ford Co-Pilot360 collection of safety features. During daylight hours, the system can monitor for stationary and moving vehicles, pedestrians, and other objects behind your vehicle. If it detects anything, it will provide an audible alert and a visual display in the message center that shows the direction from which the object is coming. The system can also bring you to a complete stop if you don’t brake in time.
Rearview Camera
In addition to reverse brake assist, the rearview camera also makes backing up a little easier. When you shift into reverse, the rearview camera shows a live image of what’s behind your vehicle on your center dash display. The image also has fixed guidelines that direct you when you’re going straight back and active guidelines that show the path your vehicle will take when you start to turn.
Thanks to some of these excellent safety features and more that come with Ford Co-Pilot360, you can enjoy the extra peace of mind when you’re on the road.
