2025 Ford Escape

Among compact SUVs, the 2025 Ford Escape leads the pack by offering a rare mix of strong performance and impressive fuel efficiency, as well as easy handling in different driving conditions and a comfortable, tech-laden cabin.

Fuel-Efficient Performance

This edition of the Escape has three engines to offer among its six different trim levels (Active, ST-Line, ST-Line Select, ST-Line Elite, Platinum, and Plug-in Hybrid). Both the Active and ST-Line trims come with a 180-horsepower 1.5-liter engine. This engine gets up to 34 MPG in front-wheel drive (FWD) models and 32 MPG in those with all-wheel drive (AWD), with both configuration options available for these two trims.

ST-Line Select, ST-Line Elite, and Platinum models, which come only with AWD, sport a 2.0-liter engine that delivers 250 horsepower. A 192-horsepower 2.5-liter hybrid I-4 engine is available for all five of the previously mentioned trims, which gets an estimated 42 MPG on city streets and 36 MPG on highways, while the Plug-in Hybrid trim comes with the same engine paired with electric motors and a plug-in hybrid transmission, which translates to 210 horses and 101 MPGe in combined mileage.

Comfortable and Stylish

Comfort and convenience amenities offered with this SUV include standard dual-zone climate control and a sliding 60/40 split-folding rear seat, as well as available heated, power-adjustable contour bucket seats in select trim levels. There’s 40 inches of available legroom up front, 65.4 cubic feet of total available cargo space, and the minimalist rotary gear shifter provides more space in the front console area.

The vehicle’s exterior has a sporty style to it, with a rear spoiler and dual chrome exhaust tips accenting the back of the vehicle and an optional LED light bar complementing the standard LED signature lighting up front. Select trims also come with fog lamps, heated sideview mirrors, and a unique rear skid plate for tackling challenges, and both the optional power liftgate and Panoramic Vista Roof, which opens with the push of a button, provide added convenience.

Advanced Technology

Among this edition’s many impressive tech highlights is the SYNC 4 infotainment system, which comes with both a full-color touchscreen and voice recognition, allowing you to control music and calls using your fingers or your voice. This system also provides wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability and can be paired with an optional 10-speaker B&O audio system, while available highlights include a head-up display on the windshield, a wireless charging pad, and remote start.
