The Ford F-150 is known for its dependability and durability. The 2019 model is no exception to this. But the new F-150 offers more than just power and strength. Here are some of the interesting features on the new F-150.
Ford Sync 3 App Link with Waze
With AppLink, the popular maps and navigation app Waze is conveniently placed right on the dashboard making it easier to find the way out of traffic jams. Not only does this give the driver a larger display, but it also eliminates the need to operate an additional device and reduces distraction by the driver taking their eyes off the road. All Waze settings can be configured by the touchscreen or by the voice activation system.
Ford + Alexa
AppLink works with more than just Waze. Using AppLink, the infotainment system can be paired to Alexa, the digital smart assistant. With Alexa enabled, drivers can use voice navigation, get traffic information or use any of more than 50,000 skills. Amazon Prime shopping is also available, all without having to get out of the truck.
Safety Features
The F-150 is available with a complete and modern suite of safety features. Available adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality makes long drives a breeze by continually monitoring traffic conditions to slow down or speed up when needed automatically and without having to disengage the cruise control every time the traffic changes.
Because even the most alert drivers can’t predict the unexpected, the F-150 offers Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 system which includes pre-collision assist and automatic emergency braking. By continually scanning the road, the system can react to a potential collision, even applying the brakes if the driver doesn’t react quickly enough.
Capability
Of course, a pickup truck needs to be capable. The F-150 features best-in-class towing and payload capacity, and thoughtful smart towing features. A dynamic hitch assist system includes a line-of-sight guide making it easier to direct the hitch to the trailer receiver. Trailer information is available on the 8-inch screen. The Pro Trailer Backup Assist system allows the driver to synchronize the trailer and the truck while backing up, making it easier to maneuver the trailer. The available Blind Spot Information System even covers the trailer.
Modern Construction
The F-150 is built with a high-strength aluminum-alloy body which is lighter in weight and resistant to dents from wear and tear. This results in a better power-to-weight ratio and increased efficiency. Place this body on a durable roll-formed steel frame and the result is one strong pickup truck.
Power
A truck would be useless without a capable power plant under the hood. The F-150 offers a choice of six engines ranging from a 2.7-liter turbocharged Ecoboost engine with 350 horsepower to a 5.0-liter V-8 with 395 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. A Power Stroke diesel engine is also available.
The 2019 Ford F-150 remains a durable and dependable pickup truck. With modern features and technology, as well as several best-in-class features, it becomes so much more.
