The 2020 Ford Ranger is a mid-size pickup truck that’s ready and able to go wherever your adventures take you. It’s offered in XL, XLT, and Lariat trim levels and you can choose a SuperCab with a 6-foot bed or the spacious SuperCrew cab with a 5-foot bed. Here are some of the Ranger’s adventure-ready features.

Exterior Styling

The Ranger combines rugged features with sleek, aerodynamic styling. The Twin power dome hood and steeply raked windshield work together to reduce wind noise and efficiently channel air over the roof. For enhanced off-road capability, it offers great ground clearance and high approach, break-over and departure angles. Two front tow hooks enable you to rescue less capable vehicles.

Action-Ready Drivetrain

Under the Ranger’s hood is a powerful and responsive four-cylinder 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine with a twin-scroll turbocharger to maximize the power output. It delivers 270 horsepower and best-in-class 310 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels or the available all-wheel-drive system (AWD).

The engine is paired with a smooth, slick-shifting 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. AWD models feature an electronic shift-on-the-fly system enabling you to select 4×4 high and low modes, or two-wheel drive for the highway.

Capability

Carrying all the gear you need for your adventures is no problem with the Ranger’s best-in-class payload of up to 1,860 pounds. When you’re taking your boat, ATV, or trailer, the available Trailer Tow Package gives you an impressive maximum towing capacity of 7,500 pounds.

If you want to get off the beaten path, the available FX2 Package for 4×2 models gets you unique decals, OWL off-road tires, an electronic locking rear differential, and off-road suspension. In the instrument cluster is a screen to give you information on pitch and roll and steering angle.

For serious off-roading, the FX4 Off-Road Package for AWD Rangers features aggressively-treaded all-terrain tires, specially tuned off-road shocks, and heavy-duty skid plates for the front end, power steering motor, transfer case, and fuel tank.

The Terrain Management System offers four selectable drive modes to keep you on track whatever the trail surface is like. Also included in the package is Trail Control which is a cruise control system for rough terrain that controls the throttle and braking, leaving you to concentrate on steering through the demanding terrain.

Interior Features

With the SuperCab, there’s room for four people and you have extra storage space under the rear seats. If you only want to carry gear in the back, you can have the XL without the rear seat. The SuperCrew seats five people in comfort and offers rear under-seat storage for valuable items.

Three 12-volt power outlets and the available 110-volt outlet enable to you to charge and power up your electrical gear. To stay connected on your adventures, the Ranger features the FordPass Connect App with a 4G Wi-Fi hot spot. You can connect up to 10 devices and you can access the hot spot up to 50-feet from the vehicle.
