2023 Ford Escape

Car buyers can find the 2023 Ford Escape in six trim levels: Base, Active, ST-Line, ST-Line Select, ST-Line Elite, and Platinum. The Active trim comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, a power liftgate, chrome exterior trim, and dark-tinted rear windows.

The new ST-Line trim level comes with unique wheels, a bold grille, a spoiler, and painted rocker panels for a more sporty look. You can also pick the ST-Line Select to receive LED fog lights and heated exterior side mirrors. In addition to these six trim levels, the 2023 Escape also comes in eight exterior paint colors, giving drivers the opportunity to express their personal style.

The 2023 Ford Escape starts out with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that produces 181 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque, which is plenty of power for your daily drive or your next road trip. If you go for the ST-Line Select and up, you'll get a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine that generates 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, providing a smooth and comfortable driving experience.

Front-wheel drive is the default setup for the Ford Escape, but all-wheel drive is also available as an upgrade. All-wheel drive increases grip to the surface below, making it easier for drivers to commute on sand, snow, ice, mud, dirt, and other challenging conditions. If you intend on driving in a snowy climate or taking the Escape off the beaten path, consider enhancing the SUV with available all-wheel drive to do so.

The cabin of the 2023 Escape offers two rows of seating for up to five passengers. Riders in the front row receive 42.4 inches of legroom, while back-seat riders get 40.7 inches of legroom. The cargo area features up to 37.5 cubic feet of cargo capacity, which can be expanded to 65.4 cubic feet max by folding down the second row of seats.

The entry-level trim of the Escape features an 8-inch touchscreen on the dashboard that comes with Sync 4, which is Ford's infotainment suite. Navigation and live traffic rerouting are included in this suite, as is "OK, Ford." This voice command system allows drivers to send hands-free text messages, make hands-free phone calls, stream music and podcasts hands free, and much more.

Safety is a top priority for car buyers, and the 2023 Ford Escape delivers on this front as well. The vehicle features Co-Pilot360, which is a safety suite that includes automatic high-beam headlights, lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic emergency braking.

Automatic high-beam headlights automatically illuminate the road ahead to help drivers see and be seen in low-visibility conditions, while lane-keep assist uses sensors, an alert system, and corrective steering to help drivers stay on their path. Rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring work together to make switching lanes as safe as possible, and automatic emergency braking is designed to reduce the risk of a head-on crash.
