There is a lot to do once you set foot in Bloomington, Minnesota. Starting with all attractions found in the Mall of America to the numerous outdoor activities for adults and children. 1. Minnesota Zoo- Surrounding Area

This is a revolutionary zoo that was opened in 1978, and was among the first zoo that to recognize the importance of organizing animals according to their habitat instead of species. The aim of the zoo was actually to bring some urban life to the surrounding rural community. The park has six themes, three of which are walking trails range from one to two miles. The Wells Fargo Family Farm has an animal farm theme while the Russia's Grizzly Coast features animals from Russia's far east and the Kamchatka Peninsula; it's partially indoor and partially outdoor themed.

2. Sonny's Ice Cream- Local Eatery

This artisan ice cream shop has been serving ice creams from the 1940s. You will be able to enjoy is superb scoops made from Minnesota milk, among the Sonny frozen-latte flavor. You will know you are in the right place when you look on the wall and see Sonny Senior wielding a Fourth of July Sparkler, and full of a child delight. If you have been wondering, what you should not miss when you come to Bloomington, then you should add ice cream to that list. You wouldn't want to live through this place's warm weather without it. Almost everybody will have one by the end of the day.

3. Nickelodeon Universe- Mall of America

This is a free to enter amusement park found in Mall of America, but you pay for the rides. There are many things to enjoy in this park; these include roller coasters, thrill rides, family rides, kid rides, former rides, dining, retail, an arcade. The Nickelodeon Universe amusement park was opened in 2008, and Triple Five Group owns it.

4. Normandale Japanese Garden- Bloomington

This is a perfect place to pass time without spending your money. The place is all cool and gives you a nice natural feeling of being closer to nature, far from the bustling city life. I f you have little kids, this would also be an ideal place to take them for a short walk.

5. Northwest Airlines History Centre- Specialty Museums

Are you an aviation enthusiast? If you are then, you will find this place to be very interesting and a great place to spend your time. You can take about an hour examining different model planes and the history of planes behind them. Although small children may not like this place because they barely know any history that would help them to connect the stories shared there and the Nation's history.

6. Minnesota Landscape Arboretum- Surrounding Area

This is a photographer’s paradise and the best arboretum in the state. The are many kinds of plants and tree species that give an all year round beautiful scenery, especially summer for photo shooting. If you ever needed to have picture taken in a natural setting, this place is one of the best. You may also like the numerous scarecrows around; they add a lot of fun to the forest theme.

7. Chanhassen Dinner Theatres- Surrounding Area

This is the place to eat just before you enjoy a wonderful theater performance. It's however not the best place for children because at times the language used may not be appropriate for them. You will need to buy the tickets ten days before the actual day of the performance, and there is no dinner service whiles the day's performance is in progress.
